On the afternoon of June 12, 2026, Professor Shi Yuanyuan, Chairman and General Manager of the Cell Valley Group, together with Li Weiwei, General Manager of the subsidiary Qiaogang Cell Valley (Wuhan), led a delegation to Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital for a special visit and exchange. They were accompanied by Lu Cuiling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Qiaokou District People's Congress; Zhang Shen, Second-Level Researcher of the District Health Bureau; and Yu Chunbo, Director of the Investment Planning Department of the District Health Service Task Force. The leadership team of Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital and heads of relevant clinical, research, and discipline development departments participated in the meeting.

The exchange focused on in-depth discussions around key areas including clinical application of frontier biomedical technologies, compliant filing, project cooperation, result translation, and regional industrial development. The three parties – government, enterprise, and medical institution – reached broad consensus on jointly promoting the deep integration of frontier technologies such as cell therapy and exosomes with the clinical diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases.
During the symposium, Professor Luo Guangwei, President of Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital, introduced the hospital's development history, specialty characteristics, and future plans. Founded in 1950 as a tuberculosis prevention and treatment center, Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital has evolved over more than seventy years into the only gradeA tertiary respiratory specialty hospital in Hubei Province that integrates both clinical care and research. As a core regional institution for tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment, the hospital's tuberculosis specialty ranks sixth nationally and first in Central China, with comprehensive strength firmly in the domestic first tier. Following the opening of its new Hanjiangwan campus in 2024, the hospital achieved physical separation of infectious and general diseases, with significant improvements in infection control capacity, bed capacity, and clinical environment.
President Luo Guangwei noted that the hospital currently faces numerous clinical challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of major diseases such as lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pulmonary tuberculosis. Clinical need is a crucial driver of medical innovation, and the hospital looks forward to strengthening cooperation with the Cell Valley Group to introduce cell therapy, exosomes, and other emerging biotechnologies, exploring new pathways for the diagnosis and treatment of difficult pulmonary diseases and providing patients with more innovative treatment options.
Professor Shi Yuanyuan introduced the Cell Valley Group's strategic positioning and advantages in core foundational technology areas including retroviral vectors, exosomes, and immune cell therapy. He noted that as an important strategic platform for the Cell Valley Group in Central China, Qiaogang Cell Valley will leverage the comprehensive capabilities of the Shenzhen headquarters in technology R&D, industrial resources, quality systems, and talent reserves, actively serving the clinical research, technology translation, and industrial implementation needs of local hospitals in Wuhan in the field of cell and gene therapy.
Professor Shi Yuanyuan further stated that the Cell Valley Group has continued to make progress in technology R&D and compliance certification in recent years. Technologies including retroviral vectors and exosomes derived from NK cells, MSCs, and γδT cells have completed FDA Drug Master File (DMF) filings, laying a solid foundation for subsequent clinical research, international cooperation, and industrial promotion. In response to the diagnostic and treatment challenges raised by Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital – including lung cancer, COPD, and pulmonary tuberculosis – the Cell Valley Group will fully leverage its platform technology advantages to work with the hospital on designing personalized, feasible technical solutions focused on priority diseases, advancing the clinical translation of frontier biomedical technologies to truly serve patients.
Moving forward, all parties will build on the clinical resources and specialty strengths of Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital, combined with the Cell Valley Group's frontier technologies and platform capabilities, to further identify concrete entry points for cooperation. They will pursue in-depth exploration in clinical research, technology application, result translation, and industrial collaboration. At the same time, drawing on Qiaokou District's broader health industry development strategy, the government, enterprise, and medical institution will continue to deepen their synergy – promoting medical excellence to drive industry growth and leveraging industry support to enhance medical care – facilitating the standardized, systematic implementation of frontier cell therapy technologies in the region and contributing to the high-quality development of the life and health industry in Qiaokou District.
