On the morning of June 17, Liu Youkun, Second-Level Researcher of the Yichang Municipal Health Commission; Li Junming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Yichang Central People's Hospital; Gong Hongchao, Director of the Second Investment Promotion Bureau of Yichang Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau; Liu Jing, Deputy Head of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Policy Division of the Yichang Health Commission; Cai Huili, Director of the Hematology Department at Yichang Central People's Hospital; and Li Min, Chief Technologist of the Central Laboratory, visited the Cell Valley Group for inspection and exchange. Professor Shi Yuanyuan, Chairman and General Manager of the Cell Valley Group, extended a warm welcome and held symposium discussions on topics including clinical translation of emerging biomedical technologies, regional cell industry platform development, and hospital-enterprise collaborative development.

During the visit, the delegation from the Yichang Municipal Health Commission and Yichang Central People's Hospital toured the Cell Valley Group's exhibition hall and related platforms, gaining a detailed understanding of the Group's development in cell and gene therapy, immune cell therapy, stem cell and exosome technologies, viral vector development, clinical research services, and international expansion. Professor Shi Yuanyuan introduced the Cell Valley Group's overall strategy of "technology platform + clinical translation + regional services" in recent years, as well as its practical experience in promoting the construction of public service platforms for the cell industry in multiple regions and supporting hospitals in conducting clinical research on emerging biomedical technologies.

During the symposium, the two sides held in-depth discussions on the development foundation of the life and health industry in Yichang, the clinical resource advantages of Yichang Central People's Hospital, and potential areas of cooperation in cell therapy technologies for hematological diseases, oncology, immune regulation, and major chronic diseases. Participants agreed that with the continuous improvement of the policy framework for clinical research on emerging biomedical technologies, cell and gene therapy is entering an important window of opportunity for standardized, systematic development. Strengthened collaboration among hospitals, industrial platforms, and local governments will help facilitate efficient integration of high-quality technological, clinical, and industrial resources, enabling the standardized, safe, and sustainable translation of cutting-edge medical technologies within the region.
Yichang Central People's Hospital, also known as the First Clinical Medical College of China Three Gorges University, was founded in 1949. It is a grade-A tertiary general hospital integrating medical care, teaching, scientific research, and preventive healthcare, and serves as a hospital affiliated with the National Regional Medical Center, covering a vast area spanning southwestern Hubei and eastern Chongqing. It is one of the leading comprehensive medical institutions along the thousand-kilometer stretch from Chongqing to Wuhan. Both sides expressed that going forward, they could further deepen communication and explore the establishment of a long-term, pragmatic, and efficient cooperation mechanism on areas including clinical research in cell therapy, sample and testing platform development, collaboration on key specialties, talent training, and the implementation of regional cell industry platforms, jointly advancing emerging biomedical technologies to serve clinical needs and benefit patients.
This exchange further enhanced mutual understanding between the Yichang health system, medical institutions, and the Cell Valley Group, laying a solid foundation for future hospital-enterprise cooperation, government-enterprise collaboration, and the development of the regional life and health industry. The Cell Valley Group will continue to leverage its technological platform, industrialization, and clinical translation service advantages in the cell and gene therapy field, actively contributing to the high-quality development of Yichang's life and health industry.
